Über mich

How long have you been a KISS fan for and what was the first KISS record you heard?

'm a KISS fan since over 45 years, ever since I heard the ALIVE! LP in 1976. I was absolutely keen from the very first moment. I've lived in the former GDR (known to most of us as East Germany -Ed) and the band was forbidden (I mean it wasn't allowed even to hear their music.) But that was also the challenge to get as much as I could, even if it was in secret. It wasn't real easy and was very expensive at that time. The fact that I indulged my passion was registered by the infamous "Ministerium der Staatssicherheit", - the secret service of the former GDR. During that “unmasked” era I wasn't interested that much - BUT KISS was still KISS for me! As the "iron curtain" came down with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification took place I saw the band for the first time! I had tears in my eyes and since that very moment I have been trying to increase my collection ...and I did! I got to know a lot of friends and guys who exchanged some stuff with me. The KISS family gave me some great advice.
What was the first bit of KISS merch you bought?

The first thing I bought was a B&W t-shirt for 5 D-Mark. A nice story was also that I bought a poster of ALIVE II and after I bought it the parents of the seller arrived in my flat and claimed it back and I got them that poster.... A BRAVO picture of Paul Stanley with his famous flying guitar was also a HIT in my collection, even if it was in B&W as well. The first LP I bought was HOTTER THAN HELL
What is your favourite piece you own, and which is the most rarest?

My favourite... let me think.... I would say probably are the plush bears and I hope to get them all the next time...?! Also the complete signed pictures, even with new autographs off all members of KISS is a favourite one, especially as one is now deceased. I don't own a real rare piece, but an autograph of Vinnie Vincent I own I count as some kind of rare ....
What KISS rarity would you most like to add to your collection?

Ummm, that's difficult. I would say, maybe, the KISS Kasket, but also I would like an original signed “Axe Bass” of Gene. But what I dream of would be a photograph of "KISS" and me...... YES, I guess it might be my biggest dream!
What does your family or partner think of your KISS obsession?

In time, all of my friends, family and relatives got used to it. Even one of my friends (not a real KISS fan) attended a KISS concert with me in spite of some doubts about it.... what can I say? he was fascinated.....

Since a couple of years I collect movie autographs too. I presenting these in my homecinema on a "starwall" .

Since round about 2015 I collect almost solely only Metal Music Autographs. One of my dreams is to get one of the biggest collection in this Genre. Dreams could be true...maybe.
